Maintenance Technician - 2nd Shift

Job DescriptionSUMMARYDistribution Center Maintenance I Technician performs general and preventive maintenance for equipment, machinery, structures and grounds.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.Perform general repairs on equipmentInstall and repair electrical apparatus, such as transformers, lights, outlets, circuit breakers, wiring, and electrical and electronic components of equipment under proper supervisionComplete minor and routine maintenance such as changing light bulbs, cleaning equipmentPaint, plaster and perform other building and grounds maintenance functions including plumbing and carpentryPerform basic inspections, preventive maintenance and minor repairs to material handling batteries, changing equipment, and conveying systemsAssist skilled maintenance personnel in disassembles, assembles, installs and maintaining pipe systems, and related hydraulic and pneumatic equipmentAssist skilled maintenance personnel in repairs and replaces gauges, valves, pressure regulators, and related equipmentAssist skilled maintenance personnel with scheduled and preventive maintenance of equipment, machinery, electrical systems and structures using blueprints, diagrams, manuals and written instructions while adhering to all safety guidelines to ensure efficient operationsAssist skilled maintenance personnel in troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing malfunctions of equipment and machineryEnsure all hazardous material in the Maintenance Department is stored in a flammable storage cabinet at the end of each shift or when not in useOther duties as assignedQUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.Must possess or pass the Basic Mechanical and Industrial Mechanical Skill AssessmentKnowledge of Conveyor systems, security controls, fire protection, building, HVAC, lighting, electrical, and other related equipment and structuresBasic understanding of hand, power and shop toolsMust be able to read and interpret Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS)Ability to follow all Company, State and Federal safety rules and regulations and wear safety personal protective equipment when requiredAbility to use computer maintenance managing software to procure parts, generate and update work ordersGeneral administrative, organizational and communication skillsWork various shifts, departments and locations, as requiredOvertime, weekends and holidays as required.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCEHigh school diploma or equivalent required; one to two years related experience and/or training; minimum one year of maintenance experience in a distribution center or industrial maintenance preferred; or equivalent combination of education and experience.PHYSICAL DEMANDSThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
