RN Administrative Supervisor | North | PRN Night

Responsibilities Coordinate nursing activities on the assigned shift to reflect the hospital’s philosophy and objectives. Act as a management/administrative liaison to hospital departments and services in accordance with established policies. Promote the flow of information by utilizing and maintaining effective communication systems within the hospital. Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve problems that may impact hospital operations or patient care. Participate in quality monitoring and evaluation activities and implement measures to ensure regulatory readiness. Assess current areas of nursing practice and provide recommendations to leadership as needed. Provide assistance to nursing staff during emergencies or when additional support is required. Conduct unit rounds to assess nursing care and patient responses. Prioritize assistance to floors with identified staffing or patient care needs. Support the preceptor role by mentoring and guiding nursing staff during situations. Serve as a resource for nursing staff regarding new or unusual procedures. Provide technical assistance and direction to nursing staff and other disciplines. Allocate staffing resources between units based on census and patient acuity. Oversee patient placement and throughput to optimize staffing and placement efficiency. Respond to patient and parent complaints in the absence of the Patient Advocate and document actions taken. Serve as administrative personnel in the absence of department managers, directors, and administrators. Assist in solving patient care, professional, administrative, and supervisory problems. Facilitate and coordinate quality services. Education and Training Requirements Associate’s Degree in Nursing (Required) Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Preferred) Experience Requirements Clinical nursing experience of 3–5 years (Required) Supervisory experience of 1–3 years (Preferred) Licenses and Certifications Basic Life Support – American Heart Association (Required) Registered Nurse, Tennessee – Tennessee Board of Nursing (Required) Pediatric Advanced Life Support – American Heart Association (Preferred) Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support – American Heart Association (Preferred) Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Leadership and management principles experience Excellent problem‑solving, decision‑making, and listening skills Ability to provide advanced clinical skills and critical thinking in managing operations Basic computer literacy Supervision This is a supervisory position that requires leadership skills. Supervisory responsibilities are assigned by the CNO or delegate. Physical Demands Physical activities may include climbing, pushing, standing, hearing, walking, reaching, grasping, kneeling, stooping, and repetitive motion. The position may require exerting up to 50lb. of force occasionally and/or up to 25lb. of force frequently. Close visual acuity (including color, depth perception, and field of vision) is required for tasks such as patient assessment, data analysis, and computer use. Exposure to patient body fluids and hazardous materials is possible. Rapid response to emergency situations is necessary. #J-18808-Ljbffr
