About the Position
Position Overview
HPA Healthcare is recruiting a Board Certified or Board Eligible Emergency Medicine Physician for an ongoing locum opportunity at a community hospital in Texas.
This assignment offers scheduled Emergency Department coverage with no call responsibilities and an opportunity to practice broad-spectrum emergency medicine in a supportive rural environment.
Physicians will manage approximately 28–32 patients per shift while working alongside experienced nursing staff. The position is well suited for Emergency Medicine physicians or Family Medicine physicians with substantial Emergency Department experience who enjoy practicing independently.
Urgent coverage is currently needed for July 26 and July 29 , with additional ongoing dates available.
Physician Compensation: $325/hour
Pay Ranking: Top 15% nationally for comparable rural Emergency Medicine locum opportunities.

- Approximately 28–32 patients per shift
- 7-bed Emergency Department
- Laboratory and radiology available onsite
- Emergency Medicine or qualified Family Medicine physicians considered
- Texas license required
- Joint Commission Certified staffing partner
- NALTO member
- Evaluate and stabilize emergency department patients
- Diagnose and treat acute medical conditions and traumatic injuries
- Perform emergency procedures as clinically indicated
- Interpret laboratory and imaging studies
- Coordinate transfers when specialty services are required
- Complete timely electronic documentation using EDIS
- Collaborate with nursing staff to provide efficient patient care
Required
- Board Certified or Board Eligible in Emergency Medicine or Family Medicine
- Active Texas Medical License
- BLS
- ACLS
- ATLS
- PALS
- Eligible for hospital privileges
Preferred
- Recent Emergency Department experience
- Rural Emergency Medicine experience
- Independent practice experience
- Procedural competency across common ED presentations
