GROUNDSKEEPER JOB DESCRIPTION

Position : Groundskeeper
Department : Maintenance
Job Type: Hourly, full time and part time
Reports to : General Manager

Our Maintenance team members are the backbone of our company, ensuring that our buildings and grounds are guest-ready and in good repair. 

Job Description 

The Groundskeeper at Kingsail Resort is responsible for ensuring that all property exteriors as well as maintenance and storage areas are properly maintained, aesthetically pleasing and functioning properly at all times. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and able to work well both independently and alongside others. The right candidate will possess excellent communication and organizational skills and the ability to handle problems that arise in a timely manner with professionalism.

 

Duties and Responsibilities  

• Routinely walk property to inspect overall aesthetics and functionality  
• Routinely inspect garbage containers to ensure trash/recycling is inside proper bins 
• Pick up and remove trash and debris from the property and dispose of it appropriately on a daily basis 
• Responsible for breaking boxes down and taking them to the designated area for removal
• Work with the waste disposal company to ensure any trash/recycling is taken off property
• Responsible for taking occasional large items to dumpster for removal
• Must pick up any stray garbage and dispose of it properly 
• Recognize problems on the building exteriors and inside storage areas (i.e. water leaks, structural concerns, etc.) 
• Tree and hedge trimming, weed-whipping, pulling weeds, planting and maintaining plants and flowers, preparing outdoor areas for potential weather (rain, wind, etc.), operating and maintaining garden and lawn equipment, ordering supplies and equipment as needed
• Must be able to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.) at times 
• Keep all exteriors (buildings, facilities, pool, parking lot, etc.) clean and free of debris using various equipment and with various chemicals
• Clean exterior windows, air conditioner compressors, etc. 
• Caulk and paint exteriors as needed 
• Clean exteriors and maintenance areas on a daily basis, as well as performing additional seasonal cleaning tasks 
• Carry out maintenance tasks occasionally, including painting, carpentry, and masonry
• Keep outdoor areas safe during bad weather 
• Perform light excavation using shovels, picks, etc. 

Skills and Qualifications 

• Valid driver’s license 
• Passionate about maintaining an aesthetically pleasing environment 
• Ability to lift 50 pounds 
• Should have physical stamina and the ability to stand for long periods of time 
• Familiarity with landscaping equipment 
• Knowledge of gardening techniques 
• Ability to communicate effectively with supervisor, staff, and tenants 
• Ability to work independently 

Compensation and Benefits

• $18 to $20 per hour, based on experience
