Quality Control Inspector

Job Title : Quality Control Inspector Job Overview The Quality Control Inspector is responsible for real-time opening, inspections, disposition, and rewrapping of all REF Inspect Returns merchandise. The role supports the QC Inspection Lead or QC Manager, reports issues, researches customer comments in SAP and RP, and ensures End of Day (EOD) tasks are completed. The Inspector also aids in ensuring merchandise is correctly processed and documented. Key Responsibilities Confirm systemic resting location of merchandise and note lock code. Confirm systemic reason code of merchandise to aid in disposition. Use REF Inspect Report to obtain additional systemic information. Open packages and inspect merchandise according to documented procedures. Disposition merchandise to RTS, CLR, TRASH, or REPAIR based on physical condition and systemic data. Re-wrap and fully package merchandise for handling following documented procedures. Relocate merchandise to new appropriate locations. Take digital photos to support reporting within the Return/QC department. Handle material movement to and from floor locations throughout the shift. Communicate with Returns/QC Lead and other staff to identify and report issues. Recognize trends and patterns in merchandise damage and report to Lead. Key Skills for Success Proactive and effective communication, including comprehending and conveying detailed instructions. General knowledge of warehouse/distribution center operations. Strong multi-tasking and prioritization skills. Working knowledge of Windows applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Exceptionally strong attention to detail and focus on accuracy. Ability to recognize and diagnose trends and patterns in product damages. Minimum Qualifications High School Diploma or equivalent experience in a warehouse environment. Proactive communication skills and understanding of detailed instructions. Multi-tasking and prioritizing competing priorities. Working knowledge of Windows applications (Word, Excel, Outlook). Detail-oriented and accurate. Ability to quickly recognize and diagnose trends and patterns in product damages. Minimum age 18 years. Physical Demands Must be able to sit, walk, stand, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, twist, push, pull, climb, balance, crouch, and handle items weighing up to 50lbs without assistance. Ability to move throughout all areas of the distribution center and lift objects up to 250lbs with or without reasonable accommodations. Work includes 90% standing/walking, 5% sitting, 5% desk or phone work. Compensation and Benefits Hourly pay starting at $18.00 – $22.00 based on experience. Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
