Medical Assistant OpportunityPride Health is hiring a Medical Assistant to support our client's medical facility in Croton-on-Hudson, NY (10520). This is a 3+ month contract assignment (convertible to permanent based on your work performance). And a great way to start working with a top-tier healthcare organisation!Specific Duties:Demonstrates clinical competence in the direct care of patients in established area(s) of practice, and assisting MDs with proceduresPerforms clinical duties within scope of practice complying with the accepted CareMount Medical and/or individual department standards, policies, and protocolsDemonstrates a proactive approach to patient care, focusing on addressing each patient's individual and family needs at the time of service; communicates identified needs in a timely mannerDirects and/or escorts patients to exam rooms in a timely mannerDemonstrated clinical competence when assisting physician/mid-level healthcare professional and/or nurse during exams and office diagnostic procedures/treatmentsPerforms authorized procedures competently (i.e. vital signs, vision screening, selected laboratory tests) as directed by physician or nurse in clinical practice areaSeeks validation/guidance from physicians, mid-level healthcare professional and/or nurse when necessaryPrepares e-prescriptions for processing to pharmacies when instructed to do so by physician per CareMount Medical policyInspects, cleans/prepares and processes instruments/equipment according to manufacturers' or CareMount Medical guidelinesProcesses specimens for transport to laboratory, ensuring that specimens are properly labeled and appropriate orders have been placed in NextGenRequirements:Minimum of 1 year of preferred experienceHigh school graduate or GED equivalentCurrent BLS certification (through an approved American Heart Association Training Centre or theProven good communication and customer service skillsWhat Skills/Attributes Are Nice To Have, And Will Set A Candidate Apart?Basic computer literacy required, with intermediate Excel skillsKnowledge of medical terminology requiredThe ability to react calmly and effectively in emergencies is requiredGood communication and customer service skills requiredPreferred Education.
