Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Details

• Location: Charlotte, North Carolina
• Healthcare Setting: Outpatient cardiology clinic
• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,820–$1,950
• Start Date: November 25, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks, ending February 24, 2027
• Schedule: 40 hours per week; four 10-hour day shifts
• Shift: 6:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
• Call, Weekend, and Floating Requirements: None indicated
• Patient Population: Adult and geriatric patients
• Average Daily Census: Approximately 10–12 patients
• Orientation: 40 hours of in-clinic orientation

Nuclear Medicine Technologist Job Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience as a Nuclear Medicine Technologist
• Experience in adult nuclear cardiology and outpatient clinical settings
• Current BLS certification
• ARRT(N) or CNMT/NMTCB certification
• Demonstrated competency with rest and stress imaging, including exercise/rest multiple, exercise/rest single, and pharmacological stress studies
• Experience with amyloid (PYP) studies
• Ability to start and maintain peripheral IVs
• Knowledge of the safe storage, handling, and disposal of radioactive materials
• Epic experience preferred
• ACLS certification preferred

Nuclear Cardiology Responsibilities

• Perform nuclear medicine imaging and cardiac stress testing for adult and geriatric patients
• Conduct nuclear cardiology procedures, including rest, exercise, and pharmacological stress studies
• Perform amyloid (PYP) studies and support the evaluation of cardiac conditions
• Start and maintain peripheral IV access according to clinical protocols
• Prepare, handle, store, and dispose of radioactive materials safely and compliantly
• Operate specialized nuclear medicine equipment, including hot lab equipment, dose calibrators, well counters, and Spectrum Dynamics DSPECT cameras
• Accurately document patient care and imaging information in the electronic medical record
• Collaborate with cardiology and clinical team members to provide safe, efficient, and patient-centered care
