Veterinary Technician - Emergency

Jacksonville, FL Available Shifts: Dayshift – 3 12‑hour shifts 7 a.m.–7 p.m.; Overnight – 3 12‑hour shifts 7 p.m.–7 a.m. Sign‑On Bonus: $2,500 Compensation Entry‑level or non‑credentialed candidates with basic to intermediate ER skills: $20–$24 per hour Credentialed technicians or candidates with 5+ years of ER experience and advanced skills: $25–$28 per hour Rates are negotiable based on credentials, experience, and location. Capital Veterinary Specialists – Thrive Pet Healthcare is a full‑service veterinary clinic in Jacksonville. We are seeking an Experienced Veterinary Technician to join our emergency team. Role Responsibilities Support veterinarians in delivering quality patient care, advocating for pets, and educating clients. Assist with surgeries and procedures in accordance with the state Veterinary Practice Act for credentialed technicians. Communicate with clients about individual pet health concerns, medications, and Thrive membership options. Maintain accurate medical records using practice systems. Obtain health histories and maintain medical charts. Use safe restraint techniques, follow standard protocols, and keep treatment areas clean, sterile, and organized. Guide, mentor, and support fellow team members. Experience & Skills Requirements At least one year of recent experience in an emergency or specialty setting. Commitment to working in a team environment. Positive, can‑do attitude. Strong communication and relationship‑building skills. Proven ability to multitask in a busy setting.
