For us, the business problem comes first (what are we trying to solve?) and the analysis follows (how do we best solve this problem?). Sometimes the solution is straightforward and sometimes it is highly complex, but in all cases we rely on data to drive our solutions.What You'll DoAs a Senior Data Scientist you will leverage Calm's consumer data to help prioritize product and growth investments, identify opportunities to improve acquisition, conversion, engagement, retention, and subscriber growth, and automate analyses and data products for key decision-makers. In this role, you will partner across product and growth marketing to turn ambiguous business questions into clear analyses, experimentation plans, and actionable recommendations. You will use data to understand user behavior, measure the impact of product and marketing initiatives, and help teams make better decisions faster. This position is ideal for candidates who enjoy diving into new domains, building business intuition, and balancing statistical rigor with practical decision-making.You Will:Collaborate with stakeholders across product and growth marketing to analyze and communicate how trends in key metrics affect business performancePartner with product teams to perform deep-dive analysis to understand user engagement behaviorDesign, implement and analyze experiments to measure the impact of new features on core product metricsCollaborate with partners across technical and non-technical teams to bridge the gap between data and actionHelp key-decision makers stay informed about the state of the business through internal data products built in tools like Amplitude, Tableau and ModeDevelop strong cross-functional partnerships across Calm to drive our team's successWho You AreStrong proficiency in SQLComfortable manipulating data with Python or RBA/BS in quantitative field such as Statistics, Mathematics, Economics, Computer Science, Engineering, or a related disciplineExperience with designing, analyzing, and interpreting experimentsAbility to translate non-technical business requirements into technical solutions, and translate technical solutions into business outcomesStrong relationship management and presentation skillsPragmatic and impact-oriented, with the ability to balance scrappiness and rigorNice to HavesExperience working on digital consumer products or subscription businessesExperience supporting product analytics, experimentation, user acquisition, lifecycle marketing, or retentionExperience with causal inference, incrementality testing, attribution, or marketing measurementExperience working with product analytics and BI tools such as Amplitude, Tableau, and ModeExperience building scalable analyses, reporting, or measurement frameworks that enable self-service decision-makingMinimum Requirements5 years of data science experienceCalm uses a geographic pay model that determines salaries based on the location where an employee lives. For this position, the base pay range across Calm's pay tiers is as follows: $172,200 - $225,000. The base pay range represents the low and high end of Calm's salary range for this position. Not all candidates will be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which include the successful candidate's geographic location, skills, experience and other qualifications. Calm uses employee zip code to determine which pay range applies.
