About the Group Health System is a not-for-profit, community-based healthcare delivery system that has serving the Southwest Louisiana region since 1952. We are within a two hour driving distance to Houston and three hours to New Orleans. The health system is licensed for a total of 334 beds at the main campus. We are the largest deliverer of healthcare in the region and the largest non-governmental employer in Calcasieu Parish. In addition to being the only full service hospital in the region, Health System is also proud to have an affiliation with LSU-HSC for a family practice residency program, consisting of 24 residents. Our medical staff consists of over 300 physicians, including 80 employed physicians Location Southwest Louisiana is currently in the midst of $107 BILLION in capital investment projects that have collectively been driving new business activity and economic growth across the region. As a result, Calcasieu parish is the #1 parish / county in the entire nation in economic growth over the next 5 years.
