Occupational Therapist School Setting in Ellicott City, MD

An exciting contract opportunity is available for skilled Occupational Therapists passionate about supporting elementary students in a dynamic educational setting. Multiple positions are open for the upcoming academic year, serving diverse learners in grades Pre-K through 5th. These full-time roles, based on-site, run from August 10, 2026, through June 8, 2027, for 35 hours weekly. Youll make a difference across several schools (specific assignments discussed at interview), working closely with staff and district experts in high-level autism, academic life skills, communication, and behavioral needs. What Were Looking For: Valid and active Occupational Therapy license for Maryland Previous school-based OT experience preferred, especially with elementary-aged students Confidence supporting students with autism spectrum disorders, communication, or behavior challengesStrong collaboration skills and willingness to work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team Excellent written and verbal communication abilities Ability to manage a flexible caseload and adapt to changing needs Your Responsibilities Will Include: Providing direct OT services (at least 21 hours/week) to students in alignment with IEPs and district objectives Assessing student needs, developing goals, and implementing interventions to support academic and functional success Collaborating with teachers, special educators, parents, and district support teams Documenting progress and maintaining compliance with state and federal guidelines Participating in IEP meetings and providing professional input to support student outcomes Setting your own schedule with approval from the building administrator to allow for optimal student and team collaboration In this supportive district, youll benefit from a strong mentorship program and behavior team resources, giving you tools to make a difference.
