Adecco is assisting a valued manufacturing client in their search for an experienced Safety Manager . This is a direct hire opportunity for a safety professional who is passionate about creating a culture of safety, ensuring OSHA compliance, and driving continuous improvement across manufacturing operations.

Position Summary

The Safety Manager will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining comprehensive Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) programs within a manufacturing environment. This role serves as the subject matter expert on OSHA regulations and workplace safety, ensuring compliance while promoting a proactive, safety-first culture throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

OSHA Compliance & Regulatory Management

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local safety regulations.

• Conduct OSHA audits, inspections, and compliance assessments.

• Maintain OSHA 300, 300A, and 301 recordkeeping requirements.

• Lead responses to OSHA inspections, audits, and regulatory inquiries.

• Stay current on regulatory changes and implement necessary updates.

Safety Program Management

• Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and programs.

• Lead risk assessments and Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs).

• Track and report safety metrics, KPIs, and leading indicators.

• Manage programs including:

  • Lockout/Tagout (LOTO)

  • Machine Guarding

  • Fall Protection

  • Hazard Communication

  • PPE Programs

  • Confined Space Entry

  • Forklift & Powered Industrial Truck Safety

  • Emergency Preparedness & Evacuation

  • Ergonomics

Incident Investigation & Prevention

• Investigate injuries, near misses, and property damage incidents.

• Conduct root cause analyses and implement corrective actions.

• Identify trends and develop strategies to reduce workplace injuries.

• Partner with operations leadership to improve safety performance.

Training & Employee Engagement

• Develop and deliver safety training programs.

• Coordinate new hire safety orientation.

• Lead safety committee meetings and engagement initiatives.

• Conduct toolbox talks and safety awareness campaigns.

• Foster a positive and proactive safety culture.

Environmental & Risk Management

• Support applicable environmental compliance programs.

• Partner with HR and Workers' Compensation administrators on injury management and return-to-work efforts.

• Coordinate emergency response and crisis management planning.

• Manage contractor and vendor safety compliance requirements.

Leadership & Continuous Improvement

• Serve as a trusted advisor to plant leadership on safety matters.

• Develop annual safety goals and strategic improvement plans.

• Assist with budgeting for safety equipment, training, and compliance activities.

• Champion safety as a core business value.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or a related field preferred.

• Minimum 5 years of safety leadership experience within manufacturing, industrial, production, or distribution environments.

• Extensive knowledge of OSHA regulations and compliance requirements.

• Experience conducting audits, inspections, and incident investigations.

• Strong knowledge of:

  • OSHA Standards (29 CFR 1910)

  • Lockout/Tagout

  • Machine Guarding

  • Hazard Communication

  • Industrial Hygiene

  • Incident Investigation

  • Workers' Compensation Management

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management systems.

Preferred Certifications

• OSHA 30-Hour General Industry

• OSHA 500 Trainer

• Certified Safety Professional (CSP)

• Associate Safety Professional (ASP)

• Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH)

• First Aid/CPR Instructor

Physical Requirements

• Ability to walk manufacturing floors for extended periods.

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally.

• Comfortable working in industrial environments with exposure to noise, machinery, heat, and varying temperatures.

• Ability to wear required PPE and access all areas of the facility.

Pay Details: $80,000.00 to $120,000.00 per year
