ICU Registered Nurse (RN)

Position Description

Location: Chattanooga, TN

Unit Information

Number of Beds: 9
Patient Ratios: 2:1 and 3:1
Unit Staffing: All RN staff, including unit secretaries and tech availability
Type of Equipment: Ventilators, Alaris IV pumps, GE monitors
Documentation System: Meditech
Scheduling Requirements: Self-scheduling with manager oversight, including 3-4 weekend shifts per schedule
Floating Policy: All staff, including Travel RNs, are required to float as needed for critical staffing needs in Med-Surg or ED
Patient Experience Requirements: AIDET, BSSR (Bedside shift report), Press Ganey goals >75%

Key Responsibilities

Provide high-quality nursing care to critically ill patients in the ICU.
Monitor patient conditions and administer treatments as prescribed.
Collaborate with healthcare team members to optimize patient care.
Assist in various procedures such as intubation, central line insertions, and arterial line insertions.

Qualifications

Required Experience: Minimum of 2 years in an ICU setting.
Essential Skills: Teamwork skills and support for new graduate RNs.
Advanced Skills: Experience with ventilators, IV drip titration, and arterial line management.
Certifications Required: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS.

Dress Code

Required uniform: Navy Blue Scrubs
