Toledo company seeks experience Transportation/Operations Manager in the transportation field. Responsible for running an office that provides trucking services. Ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in the transportation field with dispatch, DOT Compliance, Customer Service and leadership experience.

Responsibilities include:

• Recruit, onboard and train drivers and maintain a driver staff at agreed level
• Conduct monthly safety meetings.
• Compliance with all DOT regulations.
• Assure equipment is properly maintained with effective preventive maintenance, use of reliable outside repair shops and oversight of in-house maintenance associates.
• Coordinate trucking for plant support including shuttles and bulk material transfers.
• Establish business relationships with outside service providers as needed.
• Maintain daily delivery schedules to ensure customers’ expectations are met and equipment is utilized at an acceptable level.
• Coordinate preloading of trucks with Plant personnel to assure drivers are not waiting to get loaded.
• Assure load paperwork is properly prepared, invoicing is done timely, and financial goals are achieved.
• Maintain Truck schedule including delivery destinations, rates, hours worked, hours invoiced and maintenance status.
• Participate in establishing trucking rates and monitor fixed rates to assure they cover actual delivery cost
