About our school: Marklund Day School is a non-public state-certified school thatpartners with area school districts to provide a highly specializededucation experience. The therapeutic, sensory-driven Multi-NeedsProgram serves individuals ages 3 through 21 with medical,developmental, and physical disabilities. Through the Life SkillsProgram, teachers and paraprofessionals provide individualizedfunctional curriculum and supports for students who are diagnosed onthe Autism Spectrum, specific learning disabilities, and developmental disabilities. You will make a difference in the lives of our students in thefollowing ways: Document all goals/program which includes the daily participationrecords after completion of a task with a student Observe and manage behavior of students according to approved procedures Implement behavior management techniques to support students Work directly with the students one-on-one and in groups outlinedin the IEP’s Assist teachers with classwork and daily care of students withspecial needs Keep equipment in classroom in clean condition and provides safephysical environment for all students Provide training and coaching to paraprofessionals on behaviortechniques and implementation Must successfully pass PCM (behavior management) training As an equal opportunity employer, Marklund respects andsupports diversity, equity and inclusion as part of our work environment. Experience and Skills Qualifications: Illinois Paraprofessional Educator license is required. It can beobtained after being hired within 30 days. To obtain licensecandidates must have at least a high school diploma or GED. Must have Registered Behavior Technician License.
