Job Title: Production Technician Job Description
The Production Technician operates manufacturing equipment, supports general production activities, and helps maintain a clean, safe, and efficient work area. This role involves running machines, performing basic assembly and inspection tasks, and using math skills to support accurate and consistent production output in a climate-controlled facility.
Responsibilities

• Operate production and manufacturing machines safely and efficiently in accordance with established procedures.
• Perform general production tasks, including material handling, basic assembly, and line support as needed.
• Conduct visual and basic dimensional inspections of parts and products to ensure they meet quality standards.
• Use basic math skills, such as adding and subtracting, to verify counts, measurements, and production data.
• Monitor machine performance, identify basic issues, and communicate any problems or abnormalities to the appropriate personnel.
• Follow all safety guidelines, including the proper use of personal protective equipment, to maintain a safe work environment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area in the clean, climate-controlled facility.
• Lift and move materials or products weighing up to 50 lbs as part of daily production activities.
• Work assigned shifts reliably, including first, second, or weekend shifts, and support team goals by completing tasks on time.
• Collaborate with coworkers and supervisors to meet production targets and support continuous improvement efforts.

Essential Skills

• At least 2 years of manufacturing experience.
• At least 1 year of machine operation experience.
• Experience as a machine operator or in general production or manufacturing environments.
• Ability to perform basic math, including adding and subtracting, to support production and inspection tasks.
• Ability to perform basic assembly and inspection work.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs safely and repeatedly.
• Ability to follow safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment.
• Comfort working with production variety and adapting to different tasks or machines.
• Strong attention to detail for inspection and quality-related tasks.
• Reliability and consistency in attendance across different shifts.

Work Environment
The facility is clean and climate controlled, providing a comfortable and organized production setting. Personal protective equipment is required and includes gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel-toe safety shoes. Standard hours include a first shift from Monday through Thursday, 6:00 am to 4:00 pm (with some flexibility occasionally available), a second shift from 4:00 pm to 2:00 am, and a weekend shift from Friday through Sunday, 5:00 am to 4:00 pm. The role involves standing for extended periods, working around machinery, and lifting up to 50 lbs while following safety and cleanliness standards.

This is a Contract position based out of Story City, IA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
