Travel Nurse RN - Labor and Delivery - $3,539 per week

Overview Discipline: RN. Specialty: Labor and Delivery. Start Date: 06/15/2026. Duration: 13 weeks. 48 hours per week on 12‑hour night shifts. Employment Type: Travel nurse. Job Description & Requirements Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, NRP, Stable RN/ID Compact license. Experience: Minimum 3 years in L&D with mother/baby experience; first‑time travelers acceptable. Responsibility: Attend deliveries; complete 1 hour of newborn care; work triage; circulate C‑sections; provide postpartum couplet care; manage magnesium patients. Additional duties: Titrate drips (pitocin, magnesium, insulin). Charge nurse experience preferred. Unit Overview 14 LDRP beds – patients remain in same room from labor through postpartum. 2 operating‑room suites for C‑sections – RNs circulate and recover patients. 4 triage beds – travelers staff triage assignments. Birth volume: 90 births/month, 1200 births per year (moderate delivery volume). Patient population: 32‑week gestation and greater; HTN patients on magnesium; BACs/TOLACs; gestational diabetes; antepartum patients. Preferred: Charge nurse experience. Staffing & Ratios Follow AWHONN staffing standards. Labor assignments: 1:1; may pair up to 2 cervical ripening patients. Postpartum: 1:3 couplet care. Triage: 1:3 ratio; if triage number increases to 4, a Resource Nurse is utilized. Support Staff & Coverage Unit support: Admin supervisor on each shift; dedicated Charge RN; Resource RN; Triage RN. Charge RNs do NOT take patient assignments. Nurse aides: 1 CST and 1 CNA scheduled per shift (CNA may cover if HUC sick call). Provider coverage: OB hospitalist and neonatology NP available 24/7; in‑house anesthesia 24/7; respiratory therapy available for troubleshooting. Telemetry: No dedicated tele techs; tele capability exists but rarely used. Shift & Scheduling Information 7:00 pm – 7:00 am shift with weekend coverage as needed; first to float. No call required. Block scheduling not guaranteed; cannot work 6 shifts in a row. Floating & Travel Requirements Float to St. Luke’s Meridian, St. Luke’s Nampa, or St. Luke’s Boise within primary skill set. Float areas include L&D, postpartum, antepartum, and sitter assignments. Dress Code Hospital‑issued scrubs only; must change into and out of scrubs at shift start and end. Orientation Minimum 4 shifts on unit. Orientation covers C‑section circulation, labor, and postpartum care.
