Sonographer 2The Sonographer 2 performs a full range of ultrasound examinations independently for subsequent evaluation and treatment by attending physician. Performs a variety of technical procedures requiring independent judgment, ingenuity and initiative in applying ultrasound or diagnostic techniques for radiologic diagnosis. Responsible for the safety and comfort of all patients undergoing ultrasound/diagnostic procedures. Ensures that all procedures have been appropriately ordered with satisfaction patient identification obtained prior to conducting procedure. Performs all procedures according to departmental protocol. Performs other related duties as required. On call shifts required at the discretion of the Imaging Manager / Director.Essential Functions:Presents a professional, welcoming, supportive, and calm demeanor during all aspects of interactions with patientResponsible for proper operation of imaging and specialty equipment, keeps abreast of uses of medical devices as related to cardiovascular ultrasoundResponsible for acquiring and processing optimum images during exams for diagnostic interpretationAssumes responsibility and provides quality care for all procedures and exams performedSets up exam rooms to include equipment, supplies and patient preparation requirementsActs as a resource for students and new staff, may serve as a preceptor for new staff and studentsResponsible for completing all aspects of patient care documentation following the established charting procedureCommunicates patient needs and responses through appropriate verbal and written correspondenceExplains procedures to patients to reduce their anxiety and obtain essential informationQualifications:Education: Technical Program Ultrasound Technology Certification, Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association or American Red Cross, ARRT Sonography Registry, Obtained at least one (1) advanced certifications with the ADRMS (i.e.: Abdomen, Breast or OB/GYN)Work Experience: One (1) years of experience in a clinical settingPrimary Location: BrooksvilleWork Locations: TGH Brooksville 17240 Cortez Boulevard Brooksville 34601 Eligible for Remote Work: On SiteJob: Radiology/Imaging Services Organization: Florida Health Sciences Center Tampa General Hospital Schedule: Full-time Scheduled Days: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Shift: Day Job Type: On Site Minimum Salary: 32.50
