Intern Reports To: Event Manager Status: Internship Location: Spokane, WA

Internship Program Details:

• Internship Duration: December 2026 through Mid-March 2027
• Weekly Commitment: up to 20 hours per week
• Timeline: Interviews will begin in early/mid-October
• Cohort of 6-8 interns for the duration of the season

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Interns will support the delivery of Spokane Sports events. Working within the Event Management department, interns will play a vital role in ensuring events run smoothly, partners are well-supported, and participants enjoy a world-class experience. Each intern will collectively contribute to the overall success of events aligned with Spokane Sports' mission and standards of excellence.

Intern Job Duties:

• Volunteer Coordination and Event Floor Management: Manage and coordinate volunteers on-site to ensure smooth operations.
• Timing/Live Results Support: Assist with timing systems and act as an iPad/camera operator and trainer for field events.
• Event Floor Operations/Oversight: Handle equipment setup, staging, assembly, and organization of work areas and tables.
• Event Preparation & Teardown: Participate in preparations for events and assist with post-event teardown.
• Hospitality & Event Management Room Supervision: Coordinate with vendors and caterers for deliveries and orders; maintain and organize hospitality; manage supply runs and deliveries; check in and account for volunteers, officials, medical staff, media, and assigned workers; and ensure personnel are placed effectively and event needs are met.
• Team Packet Assembly: Assemble team packets and materials.
• Awards Area Management: Oversee the awards presentation area, coordinating with meet management staff; assist with announcements and presentation coordination during competitions.

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements

• Extensive time spent onsite at events.
• Frequent evening and weekend work required during event season.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 lbs. and actively participate in event setup and teardown.
• Ability to stand for extended periods during event days.
• Reliable transportation to and from event sites.
• Weekly commitment of up to 20 hours per week.
