Mechanical Design Engineer

Job Description Position Overview The Mechanical Design Engineer is responsible for working on the creation, modification and improvements of robotic equipment used in warehouse automation in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team. Conceptualization, design, analysis, fabrication and testing of automated material handling equipment. Responsibilities Create and design 3D machinery, tailor‑made sets, and subsets. Provide technical support to the production of projects. Develop and modify tools and equipment devices of robotic cells. Visit customers to retrieve data. Prepare purchase requisitions for equipment or special components. Search for products and components, contact suppliers. Commissioning of equipment and participating in fabrication and assembly tasks. Participate in the elaboration of maintenance & operations manuals. Supervise, elaborates, defines and plans work from relatively clear objectives. Designing of parts, mechanisms, weldments, and industrial structures. Elaborates and documents test procedures for prototype validation. Validate critical mechanical components. Qualifications BS in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering field. 2+ years of work experience in a hands‑on Mechanical engineering or design role. 2+ years of experience in the robotics industry or other relevant field. Understanding of design intent across disciplines (electrical, controls, robotics, and vision). Knowledge of SolidWorks, AutoCAD, other CAD software and FEA are assets. Proficient in design and drafting standards. Understanding of fabrication processes (turning, milling, welding, etc.). PLM and/or PDM experience. #J-18808-Ljbffr 6AM City, LLC
