Medical Lab Technician Travel Job:
U.S. Nursing is seeking experienced and self-motivated travel Medical Lab Techs for a potential strike in the fall.
Medical Lab Tech Qualifications:
- ASCP Certification
- Two years of recent experience as Medical Lab Tech, within the past two years.
- High school diploma or GED required
In addition you must:
- Commit to a full 9 days away from home, one U.S. Nursing receives the official 10-days notice.
- Be available to work ANY shift. U.S. Nursing does not guarantee shift placement.
- Hand-carry your complete file.
- Not be CURRENTLY WORKING or IN PROCESS for any Fastaff assignment.
Medical Lab Tech Duties & Responsibilities:
- Analyze body fluids, such as blood, urine, sputum, stool, cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) peritoneal fluid, pericardial fluid, synovial fluid, and tissue samples, and record normal or abnormal findings.
- Study blood samples for use in transfusions by identifying the number of cells, the cell morphology or the blood group, blood type, and compatibility with other blood types.
- Operate sophisticated laboratory equipment, such as microscopes and cell counters.
- Use automated equipment and computerized instruments capable of performing a number of tests at the same time. Regularly perform equipment and instrument maintenance and trouble-shooting to ensure quality control.
- Log data from medical tests and enter results into a patient’s medical record.
- Discuss results and findings of laboratory tests and procedures with physicians.
