Classification Title Classified Grade D Job Summary The Academic Success Coach ( ASC ) for Anatomy & Health Sciences reports to the Associate Dean of Library & Learning Support Services. The coach works cooperatively with faculty to align academic anatomy and health sciences support and classroom learning outcomes. The ASC meets with students to support with the theoretical and technical framework, facilitates campus-wide workshops for anatomy and health sciences, delivers classroom presentations, and supports students in one-on-one sessions. One-on-one coaching is provided for students by appointment and/or when referred through the retention case management system. This Coach also facilitates programming for students preparing for the TEAS Exam. Schoolcraft is a comprehensive, open-door, community-based college. Required Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Human Physiology, Health Science, Allied Health, Nursing or a related field. Five (5) years of related work experience. Experience leading a team and/or project. Knowledge of the theoretical and technical framework pertaining to human anatomy and related subject areas. Ability to follow college and department policies, handle frequent interruptions and meet deadlines. Excellent written and oral communication skills. Capable of taking initiative, assuming responsibility and handling confidential information with discretion. Ability to work independently and contribute to a team environment. Preferred Qualifications Master’s degree preferred in related field. At least three (3) years experience working in the health care field. Experience in retention-focused case management and working closely with college level health science students. Experience working at a community college or with low-income, first-generation, and underrepresented students. Familiarity with the TEAS Exam. Familiarity with software/hardware learning tools for anatomy content (such as Visible Body, Anatomage Table, etc.) Physical Demands Schoolcraft College is an AA/ EEO Employer. Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide with all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percentage and to draw and interpret bar graphs. Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
