Special Education Teacher – Behavior Support Program

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join a Behavior Support Program . This full-time opportunity supports students ages 15–21 in a structured and collaborative school environment.

Position Details:

• Schedule: 37.5 hours per week, Monday–Friday
• Start Date: As soon as possible
• End Date: May 2027 or with notice of contract completion
• Caseload: Approximately 15–18 students
• Student Ages: 15–21

Responsibilities:

• Provide specialized instruction and support to students in the Behavior Support Program
• Develop and implement individualized educational programs and instructional strategies
• Monitor student academic, behavioral, and social-emotional progress
• Collaborate with general education teachers, related service providers, administrators, and families
• Serve as the Special Education Case Manager for assigned students
• Develop, maintain, and monitor IEPs and ensure compliance with special education requirements
• Create a positive, structured, and supportive learning environment
• Support students in developing academic, behavioral, and life skills

Qualifications:

• Valid South Carolina teaching certification in Multi-categorical or Emotional Disabilities (ED)
• Special education teaching experience preferred
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with students, families, and school staff
• Commitment to supporting students with diverse academic and behavioral needs
