Operating Room Nurse (RN)

Job Description

The Operating Room (OR) team provides care for a diverse range of patients across multiple surgical specialties. These specialties include orthopedics, general surgery, plastics, urology, cardiac, neuro, vascular, ophthalmic, gynecology, ENT, thoracic, oral-maxillofacial, and trauma, specifically in a level 1 trauma center. The facility is equipped with two Da Vinci robots utilized by various surgical services, and offers a robust transplant program encompassing livers, kidneys, and hearts.

Job Duties

Deliver comprehensive nursing care to patients in the operating room.
Assist in the preparation and maintenance of the sterile field.
Scrub and circulate during surgical procedures.
Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and optimal outcomes.

Job Requirements

Active RN License (New York State license ONLY).
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in an operating room setting in a level 1 trauma environment.
Ability to scrub and circulate for various surgical procedures.
Telemetry experience is highly desired.

Certifications

BLS Certification (American Heart Association ONLY) - required.
ACLS Certification - preferred.

Preferred Surgical Experience

Experience with specialty cases including transplants, plastics, and reconstructive surgeries.
Familiarity with craniotomies.
Strong background in orthopedic surgeries.
