Teacher Math 9-12

The Teacher understands the central concepts, methods of inquiry, and structures of disciplines and creates learning experiences that make the content meaningful to all students.

Supervisory responsibilities: None

Duties and responsibilities include:

• Plan, prepare and deliver instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences
• Engage students in an inquiry-based delivery model of instruction
• Provide a variety of learning materials and resources for use in educational activities
• Use a wide range of instructional strategies and technologies to meet and enhance the needs of a diverse student population
• Update and maintain all necessary records accurately and completely as required by law, district policies and school regulations
• Create and maintain a safe learning environment for all students
• Demonstrate a variety of effective behavior management techniques appropriate to the needs of all students, including those with disabilities
• Maintain discipline in accordance with building expectations as well as the district's student code of conduct
• Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues and parents regarding student progress and student needs
• Participate in Professional Learning Communities (PLC)
• Create formative assessments aligned to district curriculum
• Analyze student data from both formative and summative assessments to drive differentiated instruction and data-based decision making for students
• Utilize current technology to enhance student learning

Qualifications: Illinois Teaching License with appropriate endorsements and certifications

Working conditions include moderate in-district travel as well as intermittent in-state and out-of-state travel. Intermittent prolonged and irregular hours of work.
