Strategic Buyer

Strategic Buyer Location: Midlothian, TX (in‑office position) Apex Water and Process delivers integrated solutions in water, process management, and chemicals, and seeks a Strategic Buyer to manage procurement and develop sourcing strategies. Job Summary The Strategic Buyer will be responsible for managing Apex's procurement process, developing sourcing strategies, and ensuring timely procurement of materials and services for the company's supply chain while maintaining high quality standards. Essential Job Responsibilities Provide direct support for the Company's projects by procuring materials and continuously monitoring delivery status of assigned suppliers / commodities Lead negotiations with assigned suppliers / commodities with respect to pricing, delivery and payment terms Develop and implement procurement strategies, including cost savings initiatives that support the Company's overall objectives and goals Identify potential suppliers, evaluate their capabilities, and negotiate pricing and contractual terms Establish strategies which support national and regional needs for multiple production facilities and customer markets Drive supplier performance improvement initiatives related to quality, delivery, cost and inventory metrics Work closely with suppliers and internal stakeholders on timely containment and resolution of quality and delivery issues Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand their needs, develop specifications, and ensure that procurement activities align with business objectives Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify new opportunities for cost savings, improved quality, and enhanced efficiency Conduct regular supplier performance evaluations, identify areas for improvement, and take appropriate action to mitigate risks Ensure compliance with procurement policies, procedures, and regulations Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to optimize supply chain processes and improve overall efficiency Provide regular reports on procurement activities, supplier performance, and cost savings Adhere to and support all safety policies and guideline Perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent Two (2) plus years of experience as a Strategic Buyer or similar procurement role Practical knowledge of ERP systems and relevant transactions In‑depth knowledge of best practices in procurement, supplier management, and contract negotiation Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills Excellent communication and negotiation skills Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations or related field CSCP or other relevant certification Experience in chemical and/or water treatment industry Benefits / Additional Information Eligible for benefits and start accruing paid time off from Day 1.
