Step into an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) serving K–12 students across multiple schools in the Hendry County area. This contract-based position supports students throughout their academic journey—helping them develop crucial motor, sensory, and functional skills for success in the classroom and beyond.
As a vital member of the school-based support team, you will bring your expertise to several school sites across the county. This dynamic role requires adaptability, a passion for student growth, and the flexibility to travel between sites as assigned prior to the school year.
Desired Qualifications:
- Active Florida COTA license required
- Experience working in school-based settings is preferred
- Comfort with frequent travel between multiple school sites
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate with educators, therapists, and families
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver occupational therapy interventions tailored to K–12 students in accordance with educational goals
- Travel to assigned school campuses within the county to provide services
- Document progress, maintain accurate records, and participate in collaborative meetings
- Implement treatment plans designed by the supervising OTR/L
- Support students’ participation in school activities by addressing fine motor, self-care, social, and adaptive skill needs
- Communicate regularly with educational staff and parents regarding student progress
