At Talon Technology Systems , we build technicians who understand how entire buildings breathe. We are a fast-growing, locally owned integration company in Southwest Missouri specializing in fire alarm, access control, video surveillance, intrusion, and life safety systems.

While this role, Low Voltage Technician , is heavily focused on commercial fire alarm installation and service, we are looking for a seasoned pro who wants to grow beyond a single lane, solve real problems, and build a long-term career.

What You’ll Do

• Install, troubleshoot, program, and commission commercial fire alarm systems.
• Read and interpret complex blueprints, wiring diagrams, and device layouts.
• Perform code-compliant inspections, routine maintenance, and deep-dive troubleshooting.
• Expand your skills daily by working across multiple trades: Access Control, Video Surveillance, Intrusion Detection, Nurse Call, and Structured Cabling.
• Maintain clean, organized, and professional installations you’d be proud to sign your name to.
• Act as a professional face of the company when communicating with clients, inspectors, and team members.

What We’re Looking For

We care deeply about attitude, ownership, and humility . We don’t want someone who thinks they "know everything"—we want an expert who is still hungry to learn.

• Required Background: We prefer a minimum of 6 years of practical, field experience in commercial fire alarm service or installation, though we are open to qualified candidates with less experience.
• Edwards Brand Mastery: You will stand out from the competition if you possess deep, verified expertise with EDWARDS brand systems.
• Industry Standards: A firm grasp of the NEC and a strong foundation in DC electrical theory are essential.
• Professional Credentials: While NICET certification is highly valued, we will support the right candidate in achieving NICET Level II within your first year if you don't already have it.
• Complementary Skills: We also value experience in other low-voltage areas like IP cameras or access control.
• Logistics: A clean driving record and a valid driver’s license are mandatory.

• Code & Theory: Strong understanding of DC electrical theory and solid working knowledge of the NEC .
• Certifications: NICET certification is a major plus. If you don't have it, you must have the ability/drive to obtain NICET Level II within 1 year (we will support you through this).
• Bonus Skills: Experience with access control, IP cameras, or other low-voltage disciplines is a huge plus.
• The Basics: Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record are required.
