Contract | Night Shift | 4×12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care to infant, pediatric, and adolescent patients in a 6-bed PICU setting, managing diagnoses such as respiratory distress/failure, DKA, seizures, pain management, and sepsis
• Manage patients requiring moderate sedation, continuous drips, arterial lines, central lines, and PICC lines
• Operate and monitor ventilators, high-flow nasal cannula, and BiPAP/CPAP equipment; interpret ABGs and manage chest tubes
• Perform dysrhythmia interpretation and management, including ICP monitoring and administration of anti-seizure medications, IV vasopressors, and continuous sedation with accurate pediatric dosage calculations
• Float to NICU and Pediatrics units based on hospital needs, within scope of practice
• Document all patient care using Cerner electronic health records system

• Valid Maryland RN license or Compact RN license required at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of PICU experience required
• BLS/BCLS certification required
• PALS certification required
• Basic EKG Exam required
• Proficiency with Cerner charting system required
• Local candidates are welcome

• Experience caring for ventilated pediatric patients and managing acute airways
• Familiarity with BiPAP/CPAP, ABG interpretation, and chest tube management
• Experience with ICP monitoring and administration of continuous sedation and IV vasopressors
• Strong pediatric dosage calculation skills

• Structured orientation of approximately 40 hours, including virtual, clinical, and on-unit components to support a smooth transition onto the unit
