Contract | Nights | Every Other Weekend | 36 or 48 hours/week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a 20-bed Medical/Surgical ICU at a Level III Trauma Center, managing a diverse adult patient population including diagnoses such as Substance Abuse/Overdose, Sepsis, DKA, GI Bleed, Respiratory Failure, Cardiac Arrest, Renal Failure, and Cardiogenic Shock
• Maintain RN-to-patient ratios of 1:1 or 1:2 in the ICU setting, with ratios of 1:4 or 1:5 when floating to Med/Surg units
• Float to Medical/Surgical units as needed, managing up to 4–5 patients; telemetry competency and ability to read tele strips is required
• Chart and document patient care using EPIC EMR
• Collaborate with attending physicians and residents who are present in the ICU 24 hours/day

Required Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts RN License required
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of continuous Adult MICU experience required
• Must be able to read telemetry strips
• Willingness and ability to float to Medical/Surgical units as needed

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2+ years of continuous experience in a single MICU setting
• Prior experience with high-acuity diagnoses including Cardiogenic Shock, Respiratory Failure, and Cardiac Arrest
• Familiarity with EPIC EMR
