Survey Project Manager

MJ is a multi-disciplined engineering firm located in Clifton Park, New York with a staff of more than 175 professional architects, landscape architects, engineers, planners and surveyors. We have been in business for more than 46 years with a focus on municipal, state, federal, and private development projects. Over the last several years, MJ has been awarded several multi-year term survey contracts with state and federal government agencies. We are currently looking for a survey project manager to join our expanding survey group and maintain and grow the department. Responsibilities Meet with clients to understand the scope of projects Develop meeting minutes Review budget adherence throughout the project Perform quality control review on reports, plans, specifications, and other contract documents prepared by others for accuracy and completeness. Ability to review and work within Bluebeam, AutoCAD and MicroStation Provide assistance to staff in the preparation of reports/findings, plans, and other contract documents. Organize and coordinate the work of field and office staff required to complete design, field and/or other tasks. Assist in the preparation of project/task work plans. Provide directions to staff to complete project objectives. Monitor the work efforts of assigned staff including sub-consultants and/or contractors. Ability to analyze and prepare complete boundary survey is preferred. This includes compiling record data and providing sound analysis and reason for accurate property line location. Requirements Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in surveying technology, bachelor’s degree in civil engineering technology, associate’s degree in construction technology, or related field preferred 4+ years of experience in land surveying, engineering or construction required Must have managed design and construction projects for a minimum of two years Professional licensure strongly encouraged Ability to travel within a six-hour radius Must have a valid driver's license Must be a U.S. Citizen or be eligible to work without an employer sponsorship Compensation is based on the applicant’s experience and will be rated accordingly.
