Shift: 6:00 AM - 6:30 PM

Experience:

• 12 months of experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• 12 months of Medical Surgical Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Epic is required.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a Nebraska license or compact license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >45 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.

• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Required Skills/Experience:
Bedside shift report is required.

Preferred Skills/Experience:
Experience with the shift submitted for (days vs. nights) is preferred.

Blocked scheduling can be accommodated at times.

Unit Details:
High turnover occurs on day shifts; discharges are followed by admissions.
Patient population includes possibly older teens and adults. Common diagnoses include pneumonia, UTI, dehydration, influenza, alcohol withdrawal, and respiratory viruses. Surgical cases include orthopedic procedures (hips, knees, and shoulders), general surgery (appendix, gallbladder, and bowel), spinal surgery (laminectomies and spinal fusions), and urology.
RNs titrate drips, including heparin; Bumex and Lasix are used at set rates.
Respiratory care includes tracheostomies and CPAP for OSA, with occasional BiPAP and high-flow.
Expectations include helping answer call lights and proactive patient rounding.

Shift & Scheduling:
No self-scheduling for travel RNs.
Weekend requirement: As needed.
Holiday requirement: As needed.
Call or standby is required only for low-census or cancelled shifts.

Floating Requirements:
May float to IMCU for Med-Surg assignments.

14 days maximum time off

2 Charge/Lead/Supervisor references required from within the last 12 months

Driver's license required for submission
