Clinical Laboratory Supervisor

Clinical Laboratory SupervisorWe are seeking a Clinical Laboratory Supervisor, internally referred to as a Blood Bank Hematology Supervisor, Clinical Lab Supervisor or Blood Bank Supervisor. The Blood Bank Supervisor will oversee the blood bank or transfusion service, ensuring the safe and efficient management of blood products and services.ResponsibilitiesLead and manage the blood bank staff and hematology staff, including scheduling, training, and evaluating performanceOversee the storage of blood and blood products, ensure that all procedures comply with regulatory standards and hospital protocolsImplement and monitor quality control and quality assurance programs to ensure the safety and accuracy of blood products and transfusionsManage the inventory of blood products and supplies, including ordering, storing, and tracking, confirm that adequate stock levels are maintained to meet patient needsConfirm that blood transfusions are performed safely and effectively, and manage any adverse reactions or complicationsSupervise the documentation and reporting of blood bank activities, including inventory records, transfusion statistics, and compliance reportsAddress and resolve any issues or challenges related to blood bank operations, including technical problems, staffing issues, and compliance concernsQualificationsASCP certification, or equivalent preferredMinimum five years of clinical laboratory work experience requiredBachelor's degree in chemical, physical, biological science, or Medical Laboratory Technology from an accredited institution, or other educational requirements as stated in CLIA (42 CFR 493.1489)Current and valid state license if the laboratory is located in a state where requiredHere are some of the benefits of working at Prime Healthcare:Health, dental, and vision insurance optionsPaid vacation, sick time and holidaysBereavement leave, FMLA and other leave optionsEmployer 401K optionsTuition reimbursement optionsLife, disability, and other insurance optionsMany other amazing benefitsFull benefits at Prime Healthcare: StatusFull TimeShiftDaysEqual Employment OpportunityCompany is an equal employment opportunity employer.
