This position involves floating to various pediatric units, including PICU, NICU, pediatric med-surg, pediatric PACU, pediatric ED boarders, and postpartum/mother-baby. Position Details Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (19:00 - 07:00) Hours: 36 or 48 hours per week Duration: 13 weeks Weekend/Holiday Rotation: Every other weekend, every other holiday required Time Off: Approval for up to 40 hours; no requests for time off can be approved during the first two weeks of assignment Responsibilities The Pediatric Critical Care Float Pool Registered Nurse will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to pediatric patients in various settings. Key responsibilities include: Delivering comprehensive nursing care to children in critical and postoperative settings. Floating to different units as needed, adapting quickly to varying environments and patient needs. Maintaining a high level of clinical expertise in pediatric nursing practices. Collaborating with healthcare teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Qualifications Minimum two years of experience in PICU required. PACU and NICU experience are mandatory. Comfortable with pediatric patients and previous float pool experience in NICU/PICU is a plus. Current certifications in BLS, NRP, ACLS, and PALS are required. Pediatric PACU experience is highly preferred. Dr. Brown's Infant Driven Feeding Certification is required (may be submitted pending, with associated costs). Must have Epic experience. Must adhere to the float policy. Must have a valid Virginia nursing license or be in the process of obtaining one.
