Details Work in a 37-bed telemetry/medical-surgical unit specializing in orthopedic, neuro, and spine patients Unit serves as a secondary stroke unit and cares for general cardiac/telemetry patients Patients are received from PACU, ED, interventional areas, and direct MD office admissions Night shift schedule with 3x12-hour shifts, 7p-7a 36 hours per week, 0.9 FTE Requirements Active, unrestricted RN license (KY or compact) Current BLS certification ADN or ASN required, BSN preferred Annual Dysrhythmia Competency Validation required NIHSS certification required within 3 months of hire ACLS certification required within 12 months of hire No prior experience required, though previous nursing experience and stroke experience preferred Ability to assess age-specific patient safety issues and implement appropriate safety devices Additional Information Perform comprehensive patient assessments and implement individualized care plans using the nursing process Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including patient and family education Delegate and oversee tasks performed by other care team members Participate in unit-based quality improvement activities such as patient satisfaction, falls prevention, and documentation audits Collaborate closely with the interprofessional care team to coordinate patient care Must reside within a 75-mile radius, though local candidates are accepted at a lower pay rate First-time travelers are welcome to apply American Traveler Job ID P-752770.
