Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Labor & Delivery position requiring couplet care and postpartum skills on night shift.

Details

• Labor & Delivery unit with 4 labor beds, 4 triage beds, and 13 obstetric beds
• Night shift schedule, 3x12-hour shifts from 7p-7a
• Provides couplet care and covers postpartum, antepartum, and OB patients
• Cares for hysterectomy patients requiring basic med-surg skills
• Floating required within the hospital as needed
• Facility performs fewer than 100 births per month
• Bi-weekly orientation schedule

Requirements

• Active RN license (NC state or compact) required
• Minimum of 3 years of Labor & Delivery experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, FHM, and NRP required; AWHONN for fetal monitoring required
• Preferred certifications: STABLE, AWHONN Advanced, and AWHONN Intermediate
• Experience with antepartum, postpartum, and couplet care required
• Epic EMR experience strongly preferred
• Two professional references from a supervisory contact completed within the last two years required
• Current Nursys license verification required, dated within the last 7 days
• COVID vaccination documentation required for consideration

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive care across L&D, antepartum, postpartum, and mother/baby units
• Assist with vaginal deliveries, C-sections, and high-risk deliveries
• Perform fetal monitoring, including recognition of abnormal fetal heart rate patterns
• Support newborn care including APGAR scoring, thermoregulation, and discharge teaching
• Scrubs are provided
• Holiday coverage required for at least one holiday during the assignment
• Flexible RTO policy for this position
• Local candidates accepted at a reduced rate
• Preference given to candidates living outside a 50-mile radius
• Previous employees may return if they left in good standing at least one year prior and are not local
• Candidates with prior travel nursing experience preferred due to current skill mix on the unit
