Contract Type: Travel Contract

Shift Type: 12-hour shifts with varying start times. Day/Mid: 7:00 AM - 7:00 PM, 9:00 AM - 9:00 PM, 10:00 AM - 10:00 PM, 11:00 AM - 11:00 PM, 12:00 PM - 12:00 AM, 1:00 PM - 1:00 AM. Night: 3:00 PM - 3:00 AM, 5:00 PM - 5:00 AM, 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM. Every other weekend required, plus 2 of 3 major holidays

Hours per Week: 36

Candidate Pay Rate: $60.20 per hour

Roles & Responsibilities

• Deliver fast-paced, high-quality emergency care in a busy 60-bed Level 1 Trauma ER
• Triage patients at the bedside and quickly prioritize care based on acuity
• Assess, monitor and stabilize patients presenting with trauma, stroke, MI and high-risk OB emergencies
• Administer IV therapy, medications and conscious sedation while closely monitoring patient response
• Manage ventilator and BiPAP patients including Puritan Benette 840, Draeger, Vision BiPAP and V60s
• Interpret telemetry and dysrhythmias using GE Lifepack monitors
• Collaborate with in-house physicians, midlevels, paramedics, RT and pharmacy for seamless patient flow
• Float between the Chandler and Gilbert ER locations as needed, keeping your skills sharp across both campuses

Qualifications

• Active RN license with the ability to submit right away
• Minimum 2 years of ER and Level 1 Trauma experience, and it must be recent within the past year
• BLS and ACLS certifications
• ATCN or TNCC certification
• PALS or ENPC certification
• Moderate conscious sedation competency testing required
• Must pass a dysrhythmia exam through UNA within 48 hours of offer, with 2 attempts max
• Must pass a Sim Lab on day 1 of orientation
• Must live 50 or more miles from the facility and have no recent full time, part time or PRN employment with CommonSpirit, CHI or Dignity within the past year

• Charting System: Cerner
• Unit Notes: ****2 YEARS MINIMUM ER/TRAUMA LEVEL 1 EXPERIENCE REQUIRED - MUST BE RECENT WITHIN THE PAST YEAR***

Knowledge & Skills

• Strong emergency and trauma nursing foundation
• Confident patient assessment and rapid triage skills
• Comfort with IV therapy and central line access
• Ventilator management and respiratory support know-how
• Telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation
• Level 1 Trauma experience with a calm head under pressure
• Familiarity with Cerner charting is a nice plus
• Clear communication and teamwork in a fast-moving environment
