Project Controls SpecialistWe are seeking a detail-oriented Project Controls Specialist to support a large-scale Wildfire Mitigation Program by managing reporting requirements associated with state and federal grants, including Department of Energy (DOE) funding. This role is responsible for ensuring reporting accuracy, maintaining compliance with grant requirements, monitoring budgets and expenditures, and meeting critical reporting deadlines. The ideal candidate has a strong financial analysis background, exceptional attention to detail, and experience interpreting complex grant, funding, or contractual requirements.ResponsibilitiesManage grant-related reporting requirements for wildfire mitigation projects funded through state and federal programsInterpret grant requirements, funding agreements, and compliance obligations to ensure accurate reportingPrepare and submit complete, accurate, and timely grant reportsTrack project budgets, expenditures, forecasts, and grant funding utilizationGenerate financial, cost, and schedule reports to support project leadership and grant complianceCoordinate with Project Managers to obtain weekly and monthly cost and schedule updatesAssist with project forecasting and expenditure analysisMonitor reporting deadlines and proactively manage deliverables to ensure funding requirements are metRespond to reporting, audit, and data requests from internal stakeholders and grant administratorsDevelop, maintain, and support project schedules and detailed cost tracking toolsCollaborate with finance, accounting, grant management, and program teams to ensure data accuracy and consistencySupport process improvements related to reporting, compliance tracking, and grant administrationRequired QualificationsBachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Accounting, or a related field (preferred)5–10 years of experience in financial analysis, reporting, project controls, grants administration, or a related disciplineStrong financial analysis and reporting experienceAdvanced Microsoft Excel skills, including:Pivot TablesVLOOKUP/XLOOKUPComplex data analysis and reportingAbility to interpret complex grant requirements, contractual language, and compliance obligationsStrong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracyExcellent organizational, analytical, and time-management skillsAbility to work independently and consistently meet strict reporting deadlinesStrong written and verbal communication skillsPreferred QualificationsGrant management or grant reporting experienceDepartment of Energy (DOE) grant experienceUtility, energy, infrastructure, or regulated industry experienceExperience with contract interpretation and compliance reportingExperience with:Primavera P6SAP Work and Asset ManagementData analytics and reporting toolsBackground supporting federally funded projects or capital programs
