Jr. Cost Accountant

Fully Onsite

Pay; $35-40 per hour depending on experience

Temporary for 6 months plus

Huntington Beach, CA

 

We are currently seeking a Jr. Cost Accountant for a 6 month plus temporary need. This position will be fully onsite. Ideal candidate will have a strong hands-on background with cost accounting, manufacturing variances, inventory reconciliations and monthly close process.

 

Responsibilities for the Jr. Cost Accountant:

• Will be responsible for analyzing the raw materials, labor, and overhead cost to help in determining the manufacturing cost
• Will review the standard cost versus the actual cost and identify any variances
• Responsible for maintaining and updating the standard cost, bills of materials and cost accounting records
• Will prepare cost estimates for new products and special orders
• Perform monthly cost, journal entries, accruals and GL reconciliations
• Responsible for reconciling the inventory accounts and investigate material usage, scrap and manufacturing variances
• Analyze inventory cost and handle inventory adjustments
• Participate in the physical inventories and monitor the cycle counts

 

Requirements for the Jr. Cost Accountant:

• BA/BS in Accounting or Finance
• 3+ years of accounting experience in cost and manufacturing
• Advanced Excel skills (vlookup/pivot tables)
• Strong problems solving and analytical skills
• Power BI or other reporting tools preferred
