About the Position

Job Title: Med-Surg Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Med-Surg Adult Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Shift Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum 2 years License: Active nursing license Certifications: BLS required, ACLS preferred Must-Have: Med-Surg experience Description: This is a Med-Surg unit that is blended. We have a thriving swing bed program and also occasionally care for patients who require a higher level of care. We balance our assignments based on the nursing workload and the level of care of the patients. The patient-to-nurse ratios are 1:5 for Med-Surg, 1:5-6 for Swing Bed, and 1:3-4 for higher care, based on specific patient needs. If a nurse is only Med-Surg by background, supervisors effectively manage assignments. The shift is from 7 PM to 7 AM and includes every other holiday and weekend. There is no on-call requirement.
