What You'll Do

• Provide expert nursing care to patients in the Progressive Care Unit (PCU) with a focus on CVA, TIA, and similar neurological conditions
• Manage complex patient needs, including CVL placement, foley catheter management, tube feedings, arterial lines, and insulin/dip titration
• Administer IV drips, including Levophed, Amiodarone, Cardizem, and Insulin, requiring prior competency in EKG interpretation
• Collaborate with unit charge nurse, resource nurse, hospitalists, and support staff across multiple units including stepdown and med-surg floors
• Maintain accurate documentation using EMR system (Meditech Expanse) and ensure compliance with hospital protocols
• Follow hospital policies regarding PPE, patient ratios, and holiday staffing requirements
• Float between units as needed, working efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Adhere to dress code (gray, white, or black scrubs with WK monogram), badge visibility, and professionalism standards

What You Need

• Valid RN license in Louisiana or a state participating in reciprocity
• Minimum of 2 years recent acute care RN experience, including ICU/PCU experience preferred
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
• Skills: CVA/TIA patient care, NIHSS competency, PICC/midline management, NG/PEG tube feeding, arterial lines, insulin management, drip titration, EKG interpretation
• Preferred: Experience with Levophed, Amiodarone, Cardizem, and insulin titration, and ability to pass EKG competency exam
