Schedule - Class schedule works well even if you already have a daytime job Work from Home (WFH) - Remote work must be performed while residing in California, New Mexico, Florida or Massachusetts CIAT Location : San Diego, CA and Albuquerque, NM Reports to : Dean of Education (DOE) Status : Non-Exempt Employment Type : Variable-Hour (Part-Time) Responsibilities Teach synchronous online courses via Microsoft Teams on Monday and Tuesday each week Plan and organize instruction to maximize student learning and engagement Modify instructional methods to meet diverse student needs Employ appropriate teaching and learning strategies to convey subject matter Maintain current certifications in subjects taught Support student success and collaboration with other staff and departments Mastery of Subject Matter Demonstrate thorough and accurate knowledge of the field Connect subject matter with related fields Stay current through professional development and participation in professional organizations and meetings Adhering to Policies and Procedures Keep the Student Database updated with attendance and grade records Maintain accreditation compliance and CIAT policies Submit required documentation (sign-in, attendance, exams, lab sheets, etc.) Coordinate procurement of textbooks, supplies, and equipment with sufficient notice Promote collaboration and participate in new projects Adhere to CIAT dress code and professional appearance Qualifications Official transcripts of bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited institution and subject-specific certification Certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect, AWS Security Specialty, AWS Database, or AWS Cloud Practitioner At least three years’ experience in the field or two years of teaching experience Synchronous online teaching experience preferred Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying current in the field Effective presentation, communication, and technology skills Proficiency with MS Office and learning technologies (e.g., Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Canvas) Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and multitask Strong collaboration skills with colleagues and administration to support student success Commitment to an inclusive and supportive learning environment Knowledge of current trends and best practices in higher education Strong verbal and written communication; professional conduct and integrity Compliance with all college policies and regulations; ability to embody CIAT’s mission, vision, and values Position Type and Expected Hours of Work Days and hours are typically Monday through Friday; weekend and evening hours may be required. Live classes are scheduled twice per week, Monday and Tuesday from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm (Pacific Time). Work Environment Remote work from a home office. Reasonable accommodations provided as needed.
