Scale Operator / Weighmaster

The Scale Operator / Weighmaster accurately loads and weighs trucks in compliance with CalTrans and DOT regulations while following established policies and procedures. This role requires precise data entry into a ticketing system, consistent communication with dispatchers, customers, owner operators, supervisors, and other team members, and the ability to build strong rapport with internal and external customers. The position is based in Corona, CA and may occasionally require travel to other nearby aggregate locations. This is a third-shift role, typically working from 5:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.

Responsibilities

• Load and weigh trucks in accordance with CalTrans and DOT rules, ensuring all activities comply with company policies and procedures.
• Accurately enter truck and load information into the ticketing system and verify data for completeness and correctness.
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers, customers, owner operators, supervisors, and other personnel to coordinate truck movements and resolve issues.
• Provide friendly, courteous, and professional customer service to internal and external customers at all times.
• Build and maintain positive relationships with drivers and customers while representing the company in a professional manner.
• Monitor scale operations to ensure safe and efficient weighing of trucks and adherence to safety standards.
• Manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, including handling several trucks and tickets simultaneously.
• Identify and resolve routine problems proactively, taking initiative and demonstrating sound judgment under pressure.
• Follow all safety procedures and actively promote a safety-focused work culture.
• Maintain organized records and documentation related to scale tickets, loads, and daily activities.
• Collaborate with team members and display a strong team attitude to support smooth operations across locations.
• Work overtime and weekends as needed to support operational demands.
• Travel between aggregate locations when required to provide coverage or support scale operations.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Previous experience as a scale operator is preferred.
• Experience in the construction industry, especially with aggregates or asphalt, is preferred.
• Strong customer service skills and attention to detail in an operational or industrial environment.
• Comfort working with ticketing systems and other operational software tools.
• Ability to excel under pressure while maintaining professionalism and accuracy.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Corona, CA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
