Monday to Friday 4 10's or 3-12's 6:30am-5pm Day off Rotates

Overview Missouri Baptist Medical Center an acute care hospital in St. Louis County offers a full continuum of medical and surgical services including heart care cancer women and infants breast health gastrointestinal orthopedic stroke therapy wound and pain management services. The hospital has a 24-hour adult emergency department and cares for pediatric patients at a separate emergency department in collaboration with St. Louis Childrens Hospital.

Missouri Baptist is the first and only hospital in St. Louis County to be named a Magnet hospital by the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC). The prestigious designation is the highest credential a health care organization can receive for nursing excellence and quality patient care. Missouri Baptist Medical Center's Surgical Services department consists of 22 ORs which include three heart team rooms and the da Vinci robotic surgical system.

Role Purpose

Performs surgical duties for operating room procedures under the direct supervision of a registered nurse.

Responsibilities

• Prepares operating room for surgical patient reviews preference cards to determine surgeon needs obtains the necessary supplies and equipment for the procedure ensures cleanliness of room and assists with opening sterile supplies.
• Performs surgical scrub duties and assists with the collection identification and disposition of cultures and specimens.
• Assists in turning over of room and ensures supplies instruments and equipment are returned to proper location.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or GED
• Experience: 2 years or military equivalent experience
• Supervisor Experience: No Experience

Preferred Requirements

• Education: Accred Surgical Program
• Licenses & Certifications: Surgical Technician
