MEP Preconstruction and Estimating Manager

What you bring to the table 8 + years of preconstruction or commercial construction experience with 5+ years of relevant MEP preconstruction / estimating experience Bachelor of Science in Construction Science, Architectural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field Project experience includes Commercial (Office Buildings, Hotels, Religious, Life Science, Mission Critical, and Health-Care Facilities) and Industrial (Pharmaceutical and Manufacturing/Assembly Facilities) Ability to work effectively in an integrated design/build environment Supply‑chain knowledge (purchasing of MEP equipment from suppliers) Interest in future MEP technologies Who We Think Would Be a Great Fit A detail‑oriented team player experienced in providing MEP, FP, and LV bid packages Experience identifying risk items in the MEP, FP, and LV scopes of work Ability to independently prepare budget MEP, FP, and LV cost estimates based on incomplete documents Ability to identify and solicit work from qualified minority subcontractors/vendors Experience establishing and maintaining relationships with MEP, FP, and LV subcontractors and vendors Ability to independently receive and scope MEP, FP, or LV bids in values up to $30M Capability to identify and lead MEP, FP, and LV cost‑saving efforts through value engineering Participation in project pursuit interviews Complete understanding of the design process (whether 3rd party or integrated design/build) Complete understanding of owner contracts and their obligations Complete understanding of Beck subcontracts, purchase orders, and their obligations Effective management of client relationships Identification of customer needs and understanding of their culture Promotion of community involvement among team members and participation in community service Active participation in industry professional organizations Oversight and direction of direct reports Physical Demands The job requires frequently operating a computer and other office productivity equipment; frequently ascending/descending ladders and stairs; constantly working in various outdoor weather conditions; frequently moving equipment up to 50 lbs to various locations on site; constantly communicating with subcontractors, vendors, and other members of the project team; and constantly moving around the job site on uneven surfaces. The role also requires spending much of the day standing. Ability to adhere to consistent and timely attendance.
