PREP COOK
Angelo’s is a new Italian restaurant opening in Grosse Pointe, Michigan. Rooted in exceptional ingredients, thoughtful preparation, and genuine hospitality, Angelo’s will offer a refined dining experience that remains warm, comfortable, and approachable.
We are seeking dependable and detail-oriented Prep Cooks to join our opening culinary team. This position is essential to the consistency, organization, and daily success of our kitchen. The ideal candidate takes pride in precise preparation, maintains a clean and orderly workspace, and understands that great service begins long before the first guest arrives.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Prepare ingredients according to recipes, specifications, and production lists
• Wash, cut, portion, label, and properly store ingredients
• Assist with sauces, stocks, dressings, and other foundational preparations
• Follow proper food-handling, sanitation, and temperature-control procedures
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workstation
• Rotate products and assist with inventory using proper FIFO procedures
• Communicate clearly with chefs and fellow team members
• Complete assigned prep accurately and within established timelines
• Assist with receiving and properly storing deliveries as needed
• Support the culinary team during service when required
QUALIFICATIONS
• Previous professional kitchen or food-preparation experience is preferred
• Strong attention to detail and consistency
• Ability to follow recipes and accept direction
• Reliable, organized, and comfortable working as part of a team
• Basic knife skills and knowledge of kitchen safety
• Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
• Availability to work mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed
• Ability to stand for extended periods and safely lift up to 50 pounds
