Design Manager (Consumer Products)

Clementine Paper creates fresh, fun and fashionable eco-friendly notebooks, stationery, gift wrap, greeting cards, paper storage, and various other products for mass retailers such as Target and TJ Maxx. We have also recently expanded into candles, soap, and other personal care items, so we are looking to build our team!
We are seeking a Design Manager with a modern aesthetic and experience designing and developing paper goods or relevant consumer products such as home decor or fashion/accessories, etc. We are looking for a seasoned, highly motivated, and hands-on designer that will be able to take ownership of a given project, driving all aspects of the design process, from trend research, to concepting and design/layout of products, through to final production and product approvals. They may work independently or as part of the team on a larger project.
The ideal candidate will have a versatile skill set with experience in graphic design/layout, creating repeat patterns, and understanding of product development for retail. You must have a great eye for color and trend, be proficient in Adobe CS, and have experience with print production. Surface design, product development, graphic design/layout, and typography are all relevant skills for this position.
We are looking for someone with an entrepreneurial spirit who has a passion for design and illustration, and pride in their work.
Position Responsibilities:
· Highly proficient in Adobe Creative on a Mac platform
· Trend research and conceptualizing
· Prepare/review production-ready files for paper and gift products
· Prepare/review recolor and rework of art assets
· Create/review pattern repeats
· Managing digital assets
· Creating product mockups or linesheets as needed
· 10+ years of experience
· Thorough knowledge of printing processes and requirements
· Excellent verbal and written communication skills
· Great can-do positive attitude, ready to chip in on any project as needed.
