Underwriter

Location: Boston, MA Duration: 5 Months then Right To Hire Visa: GC or USC

Primary function of the job is to rate new business accounts for our agency partners in our online platform including coordination of underwriting referrals. Responsible for resolving any system issues by working closely with our Help Desk. Responsible for managing assigned work, and does not manage others.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide Client Proposals to agents on accounts the individual inputs on our system.
• Educate agency personnel on navigating Client's online platform.
• General business unit product lines knowledge.
• Knowledge of sales support processes, procedures and workflow.
• Works well individually, and self-motivated to complete tasks by need-by dates. Manages relationships internally with sales and underwriting and also externally with agency business partners.
• Maintains good records.
• Some business travel may be required. Reimbursement of mileage by Client.
• Responsible for Monthly review of activities.
• Needs to have understanding of Salesforce, Outlook and Excel.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Industry experience - 3 years a must have
• Basic understanding of small commercial underwriting strategies.
• Demonstrates strong problem solving.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Demonstrate attention to detail to ensure accuracy.
• Excellent written communication skills.
• Demonstrate the ability to work independently.
• Flexibility to prioritize assigned work.
• Demonstrates strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook (Intermediate skill level)
