The internship focuses on evaluating policy landscape, program data, and adoption trends to develop innovative program offerings. Interns will work with planning and delivery teams on SMUD's building electrification and energy efficiency portfolios, gaining valuable skills in a collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Evaluate policy, program data, and adoption trends to support new program development. Analyze industry research and emerging technologies to inform team responses to market trends. Collaborate with planning and delivery teams on building electrification and energy efficiency projects. Required Education Full‑time STEM student (minimum 12 units) at an accredited college or university. Desirable Qualifications Major in Energy, environmental policy, environmental management, or related coursework. Sophomore or higher. Strong Microsoft Excel skills. Experience with modeling and forecasting of technology adoption. Research experience with relevant programs, policies, and technologies; ability to present findings and recommendations. Other Requirements Must be able to commute to SMUD offices in Sacramento when required. No relatives currently working at SMUD. Maintain full‑time enrollment, at least 12 undergraduate or 8 graduate units, 2.0 GPA last semester. During the summer, up to 130 hours per month. Not currently seeking sponsorship for employment. Internship Program Details The SMUD College Internship Program provides hands‑on experience, workshops, and leadership development. Interns will learn professional skills and become immersed in SMUD culture.
