The Lead Radiology Angiographer assists in communication and workflow through collaboration with Interventional Radiology Control Desk Liaison and Leadership while providing quality patient care when performing diagnostic imaging and related interventional procedures. Location: Orlando Health Winnie Palmer Hospital for Women & Babies, Orlando, FL Department: Women Surgery Unit Type: Full-time (40 hours) 5 days, 8-hours shift Shift: Days

The WPH Peri-Operative Department includes the Operating Room Suite, the Pre-Anesthesia Care Area, and Post Anesthesia Care Unit. The WPH Peri-Operative Department, in conjunction with Anesthesia Services, offers peri-operative care to in and outpatient females who meet the anesthesia ASA Class I, II, III or IV physical status criteria of the American Society of Anesthesiologists. The major services include elective surgical procedures and GYN Oncology Procedures for women. Patients having local, general, monitored anesthesia care, or regional anesthesia are treated. The surgical service staffs are scheduled to provide flexible nursing care and services for elective scheduled, urgent and emergency cases around the clock. WPH Surgery Department provides coverage for urgent and emergent cases 24/7.

Responsibilities:

• Maintains a cooperative work environment in the department and reports noncompliance to supervisor or manager.
• Provides input to supervisor for evaluations/coaching plans.
• Maintains use of customer service skills in communication with all Orlando Health staff, visitors, and co-workers.
• Ensures case turnover time to be within established department standards by maintaining proper workflow and prioritizing optimize patient care.
• Assist manager in holding self and team accountable for producing quality images, detailed documentation, and charge management through the Quality Control Program.
• Exercises professional judgment in performance of services and maintains a demeanor complimentary to quality care.
• Assists the physician in all procedures and producing diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and/or intervention, complying with all state and federal regulations applicable to each modality.
• Delivers appropriate care while recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful completion of procedures and protocols.
• Ensures that the patient's education of procedure performed, needs, safety and comfort are met which achieves desired result and patient cooperation.
• Performs proper patient identification, acquires patient's clinical history, and assures that the information is accurately documented and communicated to appropriate team members.
• Positions patient, equipment, associated devices and manipulates technical factors to achieve high quality images for interpretation.
• Applies principles of radiation safety to minimize exposure to patients, self, and others.
• Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration with and without use of power injectors.
• Administers medical aid as required in cases of adverse reaction to contrast medication and/or other emergencies.
• Utilizes all Corporate Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately, demonstrating proficiency in supply usage, charging and documentation.
• Maintains adequate inventory levels of supplies, equipment, resources, tools, and forms.
• Performs as a mentor/preceptor for new staff while maintaining high standards of patient care, documentation, and professionalism.
• Understands application and technical aspects of all equipment and supplies used in all procedures and any equipment updates.
• Demonstrates awareness of legal issues, patients' rights, and compliance with the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies.
• Notifies Biomed and/or vendor as appropriate to resolve the problem and report the incident to the supervisor.
• Participates in process improvement activities as assigned.
• Maintains well stocked, clean, and organized work areas.
• Assists with education and training of all team members.
• Directs and assists with daily workflow of the Imaging team to include patient flow, supply ordering, staff assignments, and resolution of customer service issues.
• Actively participates in departmental projects and process improvements initiatives.
• Adheres to Orlando Health mission statements and commitment to excellence standards.
• Maintains compliance with all Orlando Health policies and procedures.
• Maintains reasonably regular, punctual attendance consistent with Orlando Health policies, the ADA, FMLA, and other federal, state, and local standards.
• Demonstrates awareness of legal issues, patients' rights, and compliance with the standards of regulatory and accrediting agencies.
• Participates in the process to ensure that all OSHA, JC, FDA regulations are adhered to within the department.
• Responsible for professional growth and continuing education to maintain licensure.
• Provides patient transport.

Qualifications:

• Graduate of accredited school of Radiology Technology.
• Six (6) months of experience in Angiography is required.
• Valid Certified Radiologic Technologist licensure by the State of Florida and valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
• Maintains current BLS/Healthcare provider certification.
